I don’t want to get to political, but it feels to me that the United States has turned itself into a Banana Republic. A place were corporations rule the land. The government doesn’t care about individuals, they don’t know who you are or what you care about. But you can bet your ass they know, and care what the corporations want. When a business can give an unlimited amount of money to a politician it’s a recipe for disaster. It’s a lesson that 3rd world countries figured out a long time ago. Panama has passed laws that will deport any expatriate who donates to a political party. They have seen first hand how bad things can get. So why is this a lesson that the United States continues to struggle with?
