HalfThrottle

Ride safe. Travel far. Do it soon.

This is my 5th most viewed video on Youtube. Seems people really love watching a dummy try to break himself and his motorcycle. I filmed this to use as part of an application for the best job in the world. Island care taker would be selected to live on an island and film/blog their experiences there. It sounded a lot like what I was already doing with my video work so I thought I’d try out. I didn’t win, but I did get a video out of it that a lot of people have laid their eyeballs on.

This was one of the first times in my life I had ever taken a motorcycle off road. I hadn’t even owned my GS for more than a couple months. I bought it in January and Mitch and I left for Panama in May.

While filming some stuff about us leaving on our trip we came across this small creek, and being the stereotypical clueless GS owner I went down while crossing what was basically a puddle.

I’ve been having fun going through some old photos.  Here is a collection of my GS in awkward positions.  I only got hurt in one of these.  The pic with the pannier messed up. Didn’t need to go to the hospital, but I was in a lot of pain and limping for weeks… Hmm maybe I should have gone to the hospital.

Mitch and I decided to ride our bikes out on this abandoned train bridge for a few photos.

It was extremely tempting, but I turned around.
